Get Involved
Wilmslow in Bloom is a community effort. The more people that get involved the better, not just for our chances in the competition but for OUR TOWN. Pride in our environment, working with other people and enjoying where we live are all benefits from being a "Wilmslow in Bloom-er"! Here are some of the ways you can be part of it.
Planting a Pot
If you are a business, the simplest way to get involved is to plant up a basket or container and display it outside your premises. Put it outside from June onwards, keep it watered and enjoy the compliments!
What to Plant
You can plant up with flowers for a bee friendly theme, or why not try edible plants? These have become Wilmslow's signature theme.
Watering
There are planters and beds all over the town that sometimes need help with watering. If you have time to help them in drier weather it would be much appreciated.
Litter and Weeds
Collect litter and weeds from outside your premises - it's all about presentation and care. This is really important and makes a big difference.
Not Very Green Fingered?
Don't worry! Your local nursery can help you to choose plants. You could even host a container for another group or out of town business. We can match you up so let us know.
Community Gardens & Beds
We have a wonderful Community Garden at the Temp on Gravel Lane which has regular meet ups as well as beds filled with edible plants near Sainsburys and at the bottom of Grove Street. Volunteers always welcome.
